The First Bluebell (just)

I visited Swithland Woods near Bradgate Park for a walk this morning. After a close encounter with some Bullocks who decided to approach the stile into their field just as I wanted to climb over it I managed to get into the woods.

There were lots of little white flowers covering the woodland floor which I think are Wood Sorrel, which looked quite nice, but I found this solitary Bluebell starting to emerge next to the path. I thought it was a bit early for Bluebells, but later on I did see a sign for a Bluebell Church Service later this afternoon in the woods.

I can't wait to come back in a few weeks time to hopefully see a carpet of Bluebells.

While I was out in the woods I heard, but couldn't see a woodpecker. When I got back into Bradgate Park I saw some of the deer herd while I was heading to the tea room for a Hot Chocolate.
