Montmartre

The resplendent Sacré-Couer basilica at the top of the hill (Butte Montmartre) in this fascinating part of Paris. Lots to explore and many steps to climb. We visited a museum of art and learned much about the area's history and the artists who lived and worked there. 

Extras include a small vineyard with views across the city, the studio of artist Suzanne Valadon, the famous Moulin Rouge, and the Abbesses metro station which is the deepest in Paris (oh yes).
