Canola Country
We headed off this morning from Cottesloe with two main objectives. Our first one was to have a blip meet with PAR1 (see her post today) on the bank of the Swan River in South Perth and our second was to make a dent in the miles we will be travelling up north to see the spectacular wild flowers.
It was an absolute joy to meet PAR1 and we nattered away for a good two hours before we realised we needed to start making tracks. (See extra). I told Pat that I believed I could hold the world record for the number of blippers I have managed to meet over the past 7 years and I intend to back up my claim by making a list of all of the blippers I have actually met in real life and see if anyone can match me :). Well let me tell you I haven’t met a blipper yet that I don’t like and today was no different. Mauzee and I were delighted to meet up with you PAR1 and hope we see you back in Oz before too long. Just make sure you give my blip buddy Paola a big hug when you see her on your return to the UK :)
After leaving Perth we make a beeline for the Wheat Belt and as you will see from my main image tonight we were blown away by the Canola. What an amazing sight it was and I couldn’t wait to find a place where we could pull over and I could launch the drone to get an image of what we were confronted with for mile upon mile. A very special day indeed and tonight we are camped on the most amazing lookout you could imagine. All we can see from here to the horizon are Canola fields. Tomorrow it will be wildflowers in all their glory. Hang on to your hats everyone!!
PS - that tiny little person you can see on the road is Mauzee trying to get in a few laps of the track before we headed off to Wongan Hills :)
PPS - I have just noticed that the very kind lady who offered to take a photo of the three of us today has taken our advice and posted her first image on blipfoto. I would love you to head over to Travellingnana’s journal and give her a “Big Warm Welcome”. I must admit we did give blipfoto a big wrap, so it’s exciting to see her join our wonderful community. A big warm welcome Travellingnana :)
