Out on a limb

We had some tree surgeons in today to reduce the crown of the enormous beech tree in our garden that has a Tree Preservation Order on it.  We had permission from the tree officer to reduce the crown by up to 3m or 20%.  They completed about two thirds of the work today and will return tomorrow to finish it off.  It must have been so hot for the climber up there in the sun all day but we kept him supplied with mugs of tea and glasses of fruit squash.
