It's been a bit of a dramatic 24 hours. There was a bit of an on-street tradegy last night when a visiting friend of one of our new neighbours accidently ran over their old beloved cat Hamish. I slept through it all but P did what we could to help. Super sad.
I was up early doors this morning to try out my new commute. Beautiful weather with Ben Lomond and the Trossachs on the horizon, buzzards circling overhead, cows doing their thing and all the farmland looking lovely. Then encountered a wee dug hanging about on the side of the road going through one of the villages. After P's tales of the night before in my head, I stopped to see if I could see where they lived, but they were a bit suspicious and then trotted off into the garden of a nearby house.
The commute home was a bit more of a slog in the heat and going uphill, then in the last couple of miles I noticed a fellow cyclist with his bike upside down by the side of the road. Was chatting to David for a while who was dealing with his third puncture of the day whilst doing a charity John O Groats to Lands End run and I gave him an adhesive patch for his now scarred inner tubes.
Went for a walk in the village after tea and one of the church towers was lit up and got the blip for today (the other was probably a cat blip). The local fish shop stays open til late and has Equi's ice cream, got malteaser and raspberry ripple. Both excellent.
