Pirnmill

The village of Pirnmill on the Isle of Arran straddles the shoreline along the Kilbrannan Sound. Behind the town the hills and corries rise to 721m.

The village name is simply the place where a mill made pirns, wooden bobbins, for threadmakers Clarkes, latterly Coates of Paisley.
