Cyber Punk Beauty

Went to Whitby Goth Festival to take photographs. What a terrific collection of people! There was Victoriana, Punks, Goths, Steam Punks, Cyber Punks, Lolita Punk and other punk/goth ensembles that I couldn't even name.

The place is teaming with people and photographers. The goths wandering slowly up and down Church Street and the steps are always more than happy to stop for a photo to be taken. At times it was like paparazzi around some of them, and you really had to be quick taking your shot and be prepared to get into the scrum!

I chatted with a few and they were very approachable and open. Many simply did this twice a year and enjoyed the dressing up. Others lived the life and dressed their way more often.

The good thing about the event is that no-one questions anyone about what they're wearing or choosing to be, and there were a number of transvestites happily wandering around looking remarkable and dressed to the nines without fear of ridicule. The atmosphere really is great.....
