Danieal on the Soundscapes stage
https://danieal.co.uk/?cpt_events=dj-set
This is Danieal doing her own set on the Soundscapes stage, after the African musician Gasper Nali. I enjoyed them both. Danieal, from Birmingham, does gigs up and down the country, and has a Reggae Uprising podcast too. See link above.
After that set, I think we wandered off into the woodlands for a while for some dancing and sitting by a controlled fire. It had been a hot day on site, and the air was still balmy. Lights glowed red atop the nearby Severn Bridge. The moon rose over the parkland. Another band came on the Soundscapes stage later, I remember K moshing in the marquee, while I danced on the bench of a bar table in the bar tent, with my half pint mug of Blakeney Red. The music must have been good, if only I could remember who the band was! Later we set off for the main drag, and found an all-female Zydeco group called Joli Blon playing in the campaigns tent. Very good, great to dance to, but dancing on carpet? That's a bit posh for a festival!
K wanted to see the. 'psycho-acoustic goats', but they came in bleating like goats, with latex goat masks on. I stuck the goat antics for as long as I could, then announced I was goating back to the campsite. We had Galaxy hot chocolate before bed, the decadence of it! . Not even a shot of brandy. I believe the Galaxy choc is vegan. This a very vegan festival. I finally got my vegan gelato at stupid o'clock (ten at night? ) When the queues at the caravan had ided down. Rhubarb and custard flavour.. I won't be going back for more, it was chalky.
However, we did attend a vegan cookery demo by mistake during the day. I loved, it but K is a dinner lady who used to be a chef, so she got bored and wandered off. I'd like to try more vegan cooking at home
Its' a shame we never got to any of the trans events in the LGBGTQ+ tent, as K's youngest is trans. We could never manage to get to any of the events at their starting time, and that seemed to be very important. After that, everyone was put into a solemn sharing circle, and there was to be no barging in by latecomers. Hey, we tried! No doubt we were very trying.
No Apologies for the rambling nature of this blip: we were on Festival Time. There is no sequence nor structure to it.
