Old Glossop

We had a walk down to see the strange goings on at the medieval market, being held to mark the restoration of the old cross. It has stood there since the middle-ages, surviving for centuries until someone reversed their VW Passat into it last year. Glad it wasn't me!

This evening we'll be watching the penultimate episode of 'The Village', much of which was filmed around here. The church and school in the background of this shot have featured heavily. It's not cheery viewing but John Simm is excellent in it.
