Contre-jour
This morning I thought the light would be ideal from some contre-jour shots of the chickens. They disagreed.
So I wandered outside our back gate instead.
Noth that long ago I would have been greeted by Milo, the resident horse, but he has moved into a new home with more horses for company.
This shot is a bit of an experiment with the Leica's in-camera jpeg dynamic range. Had I been shooting in RAW I would have exposed to the right. As it is, if you pixel-peep the original jpeg file you can see some blown highlights, but not obviously so. On the other hand, there was a lot more recoverable shadow detail on that tree than I've chosen to show here
