August Super Moon!
I took this Sturgeon Full Moon at 1.45 am when it was 360,361 km from Earth which makes it a Super Moon - Super Moons occur when the Moon is at its closest to Earth and the August Super Moon is the fourth and last of this year. The August Sturgeon Full Moon gets its name from the Algonquin tribes of eastern North America where large sturgeon were caught at this time, NASA has a site - click on " explains " to discover more. It has lots of other names - you can make up your own - why not☺☺
