Decided to drive to a lake.
45 degree ‘beaches’ made paddling impossible.
We did meet some wealthy Italian/French people. One was an artist and told us one of his grandads down the line sank a boat in a canal during the Crimean war and prevented the Russian army advancing. I bet that had 45 degree banks too.
