WITH A SONG IN MY HEART

Now is the Cool of the Day

I have a stolen Blip. This photo made me smile. Sabrina found second hand bunk beds for the girls in their apartment in Spain. She sent me the photo this morning with the caption - ‘The bunk beds worked out well on the first night!’
I started the day falling off the back step and bruising my knees and left shoulder! Remember Mrs Doyle from Father Ted? That’s me!
Then I went to Skipton on the bus to collect a parcel from M&S.
Tonya and Yurii went on the bus to Settle for their first English lesson and really enjoyed it. They said there were 4 Ukrainian people and a Syrian lady with her little girl. They bumped into their teacher again afterwards when they were going for a walk around Settle and he invited them i to his house for a cuppa.
I had an appointment for a mammogram in Settle this afternoon and we also popped into Booth’s for some cider. Frank saw a box of veg on the shelf for £1.50 - 2 cauliflowers, peaches, apples, plums, bananas, green beens and brocolli sprouts - bargain he snaffled it! He also found a chess set in a charity shop so he bought it for him and Yurii to play - Frank lost!

I made potato salad, veggie burgers and salad for tea.
Tonya then made a vegan, gluten free rhubarb cake for tomorrow.
It will be their 6th Wedding Anniversary - aaaaaah :-). We are taking them to Malham Cove for a picnic.
I found today unbearably hot and had to disappear up to our room for a while after tea and had the velux wide open to let the slight breeze in.
When I went down again and outside it had really cooled off and it was very pleasant. It reminded me of a song we used to sing in choir in Scotland.

222/365 Respite

‘Now is the Cool of the Day’
is a song we sang in choir
a few years ago
and I still always sing it
when the sun goes down
and an evening breeze
carries the stifling heat away
some welcome respite
after a hot August day.

Stay cool Blippers!
Goodnight :-)X
