This afternoon we attended a big protest gathering at the Avondale House Forest Park. In their wisdom our government have been listening to the dreaded Troika who have been overseeing our penury and insisting that we should sell off as much of the national family silver as possible in order to pay off the fat cats who gambled on Ireland's boom and are not suffering now during the bust. One of the brilliant ideas is to sell off the harvesting rights in our national forests. This will inevitably mean restrictions on the citizen's rights of access to our woods, forests and forest parks.Hence the protest meeting today.
One of the luminaries to attend and participate with some readings was this chap, Jeremy Irons. Or is it Abe Lincoln? Whoever he is he was very much at ease simply mingling with the crowd.
