This Painted Lady....

... was one of only two butterflies fluttering around on our visit to RHS Harlow Carr Gardens this morning. Given the extreme heat, I don't blame any others for taking cover.

Later, in town, I was taking a sneaky candid shot of a couple of street entertainers having a break for lunch, when I was photo-bombed by a young lad (see my extra). I felt I had to apologise to the lad's mother for taking a shot (albeit accidentally) and offered to send her a copy.

Neither of us had a pen to write down her email address - so the lad was promptly sent into the nearby bank to borrow a pen. He was back very quickly having walked in and asked 'can I borrow a pen?'
