A Small Cat on a Scorched Lawn

It's been fairly warm again and since about ten o'clock we've had the house shut down to maintain some degree of coolth. I followed the little cat out this morning and persuaded him to pose for a portrait (hah, if you believe that you don't know cats)!

About half past four a cool breeze began to blow and I sat on the deck with a cup of tea for a while. Cato's been in and out a couple of times but I think he's probably just tucked himself away in the shade of a bush somewhere. I thought he might have had his own microclimate in that fur but he's definitely been making complaints when he comes in. Just a couple more days to go, I hope!
