Harvest!

As the foliage had more or less withered in the ongoing heat, we emptied out our two plant pots of potatoes this morning - and this is the result (along with some peas that continue to flourish in the warmth).

Not bad from just two miniature red potatoes from Waitrose which we found had 'chitted' in their packaging back in March. With results like these, we wondered why garden centres etc. sell 'seed potatoes' as a separate category of potato. Maybe one of you can answer that question for us...

By the way, in case you're wondering: we ate all of the vegetables you see in the above picture for our lunch today, along with some runner beans from the garden of some friends we visited yesterday evening - and it was all delicious!
