Loch Lomond

Emergency air ambulance blip which I didn't post at the time because what we thought was a fatal scenario unfold just outside our room. 

The bonny banks were heaving with people in the summer sunshine. Suddenly there were police cars, an ambulance and then finally the air ambulance homing in onto the grassy space in front of the hotel.

It transpired that a small boy aged about 11 had had a very nasty accident in the water,  the area was cordoned off with tape with even the police boat entering the scene after the helicopter. The whole sorry episode was watched by the sunbathers, barbecuers and picnickers  and we honestly thought he was dead with the events unfolding. I was glad to hear the next morning he was ok but it left an awful feeling that night on what should have been a lovely evincing on our first night away to cheer me up!
