Wound up in Wexford

64 flying geese

Sorry - more sewing today.  We've not left the premises, and the garden is not inspiring me.

This particular shape of patch is called a flying goose.  They are often in groups.  In the case of this particular quilt, they will be flying all round the edge.

Today was about mass production, chain stitching 4 or 5 sets at a time.  The last job was to trim them all down to size, and now they'll be put away until the centre of the quilt is pieced up.

I then cut the pieces for the next square - this one should be fairly straightforward to piece together.  But the particular Block of the Month quilt that I have chosen to tackle next is deliberately designed by Debbie Shore to use/introduce new techniques.  So the following block uses a Dresden plate, which will be a new skill for me.  Looking forward to that.
