Chilled day in the garden
After a very long journey from the north of Scotland yesterday the plan today was for the family to enjoy the last of the hot weather in the garden and do very little.
Sadly John needed to get back so after lunch he headed off for the train, the one I usually catch. The near experience I had last month happened to him, the train terminated at Derby as it couldn’t continue through Birmingham. He was to continue in by coach but the last we heard he was at Luton and was going via London to Bath and as yet hasn’t got home!
In the collage you can see Jude enjoying wearing Boppa’s fireman’s helmet which he wears each year at our village gala. It hangs in the garage. Grace grabbed some rays between washes, five in all, and it all dried. A big job saved for when she eventually gets home.
Alex came in the afternoon and we had a BBQ. The girls had fun with him and a bubble gun I had got for them before we ate and then they each had a strawberry ice cream lolly as a treat.
We’re all pooped now but have just heard John is at a Reading, still nearly an hour away from home, he’s been on his way over 9 hours!
