Morning Light and Shadow

A view from my screened porch.  That vine on the potting shed arbor is where the wasps have built their nest.  They must have chosen the location so the morning sun would warm them.  I've always wondered how they chose their nest location.  Do they have a "meeting" to discuss it?  Does the queen wasp decide?  Or does one enterprising wasp just start building and everyone follows his lead?  Such weighty matters occupy my mind this morning.  I think it's time for coffee.
