Short-eared Owl

What a spot! Daughter #1 saw "something" sitting on a rock as we drove around the Ross of Mull, this morning. After leaping from the car, in great excitement, I was thrilled to find this short-eared owl posing for me, just long enough to fire off a few portraits, before it took to the air.
