Aftersun

seemed appropriate that we popped up to the Edinburgh Film Festival opening gala film Aftersun, with new Scottish director Charlotte Wells and great performances from Paul Mescal (Normal People) and newbie Frankie Corio. I liked it a lot but it seemed a tad long (although only 96mins) but for a debut film maker it was pretty sensational, similar to Lynn Ramsay’s debut, Ratcatcher in many ways. ****
