Gannet in the Irish Sea
Travelled back from Scotland today on the Cairnryan-Belfast ferry today. Quite a few gannets around Ailsa Craig, despite the depressing reports of depleted numbers due to bird flu. Gannets have an expression on their face that always makes me think of a sardonic clown. The blue granite from Ailsa Craig is used to make curling stones and the island is known locally as Paddy's Milestane. The extra is a string of gannets flying past Paddy's Milestane.
