Who Cares
No photography today. No time
After a light breakfast my son and I got stuck into more decluttering.
Loft space, spare room, wardrobe.
Clothes, games, books, toys, a life's ephemera. All in a box and taken to Compton Care.
The hospice that provides end of life care. To people who are at the end of life.
But they also care for the carers. The families of the ill and the stricken.
But who cares for the care givers.
We do. We donate, have donated, and will continue to donate whatever we can do support the work of these magnificent people who give so much of themselves to alleviate suffering.
Compton Care nursed Roger, my late stepfather in his final struggle.
They nursed my wife's beautiful sister Val, through the hideous trauma of her last few days.
They do this all day. Every day. Year in. Year out.
And they have a marvellous tea room and restaurant.
Called Crumbles.
They sell cake.
