Soeur Marie Romaine

The reason for my trip back home this time is that my aunt, Tante Soeur Germaine, was celebrating her 60th year as a nun. After having missed many a family celebration because of my life as an expat, I wasn't going to miss this (one of the benefits of early retirement!)

The nun pictured here is a colleague of my aunt, soeur Marie Romaine, from the same order : les soeurs de la Divine Providence de Ribeauville. I just love her. At 88 years of age, he's a 5'2" bundle of energy and fun. She used to teach English and German and is a history buff, with many fascinating stories to tell.
