Last day of the heatwave

I think this is the end, though I'm back blipping 2 days later and it's still pretty warm and we've had only about 3 drops of rain. Here on Sunday the curtains and blinds are drawn and dropped against the heat. I meanwhile am sitting in the shade at the bottom of our garden which I've discovered is the coolest place to hang out in the mornings.
The 14th is our daughter Emily's birthday. I can't quite work out how she has got so old!
