Settling in- dogs and humans

We bought this dog bed yesterday and the 2 dogs seem to tag team sleeping in it. How could they know it was for them?

Unlike in Oz, here when we go out, the dogs must remain indoors at the moment.
We went school clothes shopping in Ayr, the next large town, only 1hr 20mins away. We did well. New trousers, shirts, socks, pjs and school shoes organised.
Followed by lunch in the stables of Culzean castle.
It was pouring rain all day, but didn't dampen our spirits too much.

Thankfully, there were no damp patches on the carpet when we got home.
