O Caledonia

A wonderful darkly mesmerising novel by Elspeth Barker which I have just re-read and cannot recommend too highly. The prose is superb, the central character wonderfully perverse and the plot darkly Gothic. An imaginative evocation of the vicissitudes of misunderstood adolescence
