Sphinx Island
Our lovely neighbors on little Sphinx Island (just west) and we have been trying to get together all summer. ( we did see them when we were here last summer.) We’ve known them since we came here and they would kindly invite us fro dinner when we were living on the sailboat. They had a very rustic little cabin and 3 kids. Since then they have built a gorgeous, off the grid, elegant house. They invited us for coffee and muffins so over we went in the tin boat this morning… They did a little tour around for Kirsten and Fiona, showing them the salt water hot tub they built on a rocky point. I couldn’t get a clear photo (too iffy for me to walk too far on these rocks) but wanted to record them, they couldn't be nicer. ( Their whole family now work for them in a high end gift store in Vancouver. ) The entire top of the tub with seats rolls away to reveal the tile tub which is filled with salt water and heated by a wood stove (which you can just see. )
(added an extra with views of the island from our dock,(the one on the left) from the point, the hot tub from the water with the top in place...not all today.)
