But, then again . . . . .

The Telephone.

This grubby telephone does not make a good photograph but it is part of the story of my day, and even my week.

I have spent a considerable amount of time recently phoning The Old Lady and Big Sis; this is trying period. TOL has very quickly deteriorated over the last couple of weeks, she is quite suddenly having difficulty coping with the problems of age and all of its baggage and has started having panic attacks over the most trivial of things, this is not helped by the fact that she is fully aware of, and understands, what is happening. In spite of that she feels very depressed, lonely and, worst of all, betrayed.
For a lady whose indomitable spirit has kept her going for so long it is very sad.

It is now time for all of us to bite the bullet and acknowledge the fact that she can no longer live alone with all that that implies. I will be going back to Bristol, very shortly, to give her the support that she so badly needs.
