Common blue on ragwort
(SenecioJacobaea)
Today I went to the butterfly reserve. Probably not a great choice, with a mixture of sun and torrential rain forecast. Actually, there was neither, just a lot of grey.
Not many butterflies either: meadow browns, 2 whites, substantial number of chalkhill blues and this common blue. I wondered what flowers there would be after the drought for the butterflies to feed on. The answer is mostly ragwort and knapweed (as in this shot), plus scabious, marjoram and fennel.
So there we are, that's me! The results of #WFW22_19 are below.
In case you get as confused as I do, we're currently onto #WFW22_20 until midnight Saturday 27th. #WFW22_21 will be the last challenge this summer, unless anyone else (in Oz/NZ?) would like to take it on. If so, let me know.
Keep safe and happy xx
