Hampton Court before the rain!

It looked gloomy this morning so I went for a bike ride before the rain…to Hampton Court. No photo of the Superbloom as half of it has now been mown and the r3st is 90% dry vegetation. However the planting either side of the main entrance in the photo is doing well…interesting to see the ‘spider plants’ which have obviously liked the hot weather and have lots of ‘babies’ like when you have them indoors. I was there around 10.30 and very few people going in today, no coach parties  yet.

So many plants in our garden have finished flowering so I went to the local garden centre and bought a few things to add colour but have not yet planted them as it really began to rain hard. We had a huge downpour and I had to find an umbrella to walk to the local shops and my feet got soaked in sandals! I think there have been floods in parts of London and the SE.

Today Thames Water announced we have a hosepipe ban starting on August 24th. I think I can manage with just watering cans to water the pots and tomatoes.
