Wednesday
I had a blood test appointment mid-morning so we parked in St George's Square and walked over to the surgery. Following that we went along The Tything to the Coffee Club for a very nice drink and Ann bought an antique flame thrower, well I think it's a brass blow torch actually, just needs a little cleaning up.
After coffee we walked back to St George's Church where they were holding a lunchtime concert. It was very well attended, this church has a circular approach to seating as opposed to rows of pews, it makes the place more friendly and approachable I think, anyway it's ideal for concerts.
The musicians played Summer from Vivaldi's Four Seasons which was followed by Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty complete with some young ballet dancers and narration by an older person. Both pieces were very good, especially the Vivaldi, and appreciated by the audience.
Apparently the lunchtime concerts are run monthly, we may come again.
From there we popped over to Homebase to get some paint and look at garden furniture. I took the picture upstairs at Dunelm, on the same trading estate. I like the reflections through the screen into their cafe.
