Discovery
I was delighted to find this beautiful red apple on the smallest tree in our little orchard this morning. It is the variety Discovery and because of incorrect pruning in its youth, when I didn’t know any better, this poor tree has struggled to grow. Every year two or three tiny apples form but either drop off or rot before they are ripe. This year it looks like success. I know it’s only one apple but for this tiny tree that is fantastic!
Later in the day, I met for the first time, the four-day-old heap of gorgeousness in the extra; eight perfect little pups which I am sure I will be including in more than one future blip.
Then a third bit of excitement enveloped me this evening when I found a RED Aurora Alert on my phone! A red alert is a rare occurrence and means that it is possible that the Aurora Borealis might be seen in the sky anywhere over Britain. Sadly, when I looked outside, all I saw was wall to wall cloud! Undaunted and ever the optimist, I grabbed my head torch, hitched Bertie up to his lead and took to the hill where I just might see some clear sky to the north. N refused to be involved in such silliness when it was past his bedtime. This time, he was proved to be right. Hopefully some other Blippers will have been blessed with clear skies.
