Summer holiday 2022 day 1

Our summer holiday started in earnest today, with a leisurely drive down to Whitstable. On the way we stopped off at Cliveden for a slightly more planned sojourn than last year. It was a great idea of Louisa's!
After a spot of lunch and exploring some trees and the ornamental lake, Owen and me eventually found our way to the centre of the maze*, despite the threat of bring stuck in there forever, before we headed over to the storybook play park, where I met my namesake*. Then it was ice cream and the lover's fountain before hitting the road again.

It was perfect timing too as we had pretty much torrential rain, and very slow moving traffic after hitting the M25. Still, we made it in the end to settle in to our 'holiday house' airbnb* (Owen says he prefers last year's) before a trip into town for the obligatory fish & chips.
