Cloth diapers in Target

That last half of my pregnancy with Bob was spent on bed rest. As the nesting urge set in, I decided that we should use cloth diapers. However, since there was no cloth diaper service locally that would launder the diapers, we would have to wash them ourselves. A perfect opportunity, I thought, to buy a new washer and dryer.

Then there were hours spent online looking at various diaper options and reviews. There was no shop locally and no one I knew used them. I wound up buying a variety of styles online and we then bought more of what worked best. The first 6 months went really well. But once Bob started eating solids, our new washer couldn't really do the job. That was the end of cloth diapering for us, sadly.

Bob and I were shopping in Target today, where we ran across this display of cloth diapers. I was instantly transported to 8 years ago, opening boxes of diapers just like these and imagining our baby wearing them. That anticipation, waiting for this child who was a great unknown, was so exciting. It was such a nice memory.
