Edinburgh
Thank you to Pinkhairedlady for sending us this shot of Princes Street gardens and Edinburgh Castle to represent the city of Edinburgh in our LornaLPodcast war diary photo album.
Lorna mentions Edinburgh once in her Diary of the war (blipped here 2019-2021). She speculates that the Nazis will be telling the world that the city is a 'heap of smoking ruins' after a daylight raid on Rosyth and the Firth of Forth in October 1939. Hear Bethany Ray perform Lorna's written report of the raid in Episode 3 of our podcast series: the segment starts at 6'36".
We suspect that some of the photographs submitted by blippers by email to h.hall@napier.ac.uk as part of this challenge may not be reaching Hazel. This is due to the University's tight email security. Hazel is currently investigating this issue with the IT services staff.
If you have sent any pictures to Hazel and she has not acknowledged them, this means that they have not got through to her. Please could you leave a comment below if this applies to you? Then we can ask the University IT staff to mark your message to Hazel as 'safe', and it will reach her.
In the meantime, we hope that others will follow Pinkhairedlady's lead by checking our list and/or the interactive map, and sending us some more photos (not previously blipped elsewhere) to h.hall@napier.ac.uk to add to this growing album. Thank you all!
