Fishy lunch
On the map it's described as Fish & Chips, but Fish Shop on Benburb Street is a lot more than that (sample menu). It was Carl's choice for lunch today, and a good one.
It's a small place, with seating is restricted to 15 stools at the counter or the wall. The menu is what lifts it from the normal chipper crowd. I had Plaice Goujons and Killary Fjord Mussels. Carl opted for Anchovies with Russian Salad and a Plaice main course. We had a glass of wine each (both a bit weird, to be honest). The food was really, really good. I was glad I'd gone for a starter portion of mussels rather than the larger main course.
We spent a while in McGettigan's nearby before and after. All in all, a brilliant afternoon.
