Checking in

Having missed so very much of the dragonfly action this summer with events, it was almost a surprise on the canal bank to see the hawkers out. Not just one either. This is a male migrant hawker patrolling his territory. A four spotted chaser and a black-tailed skimmer zoomed in near the car park too. 

Glad to be nearly back in my normal zone and exceptionally glad to have seen these guys today. The dogs weren't impressed. 

Ringing my mum I was actually blown out of our telephone conversation with her wanting to watch the news - excellent. Glad she is still in her old routines. Spookily I can see her on camera mainly for safety reasons so I know all is ok or at least as best as it can be.
