Mr. Downy Woodpecker

This chap has been very busy at the feeder. The Eastern Downy Woodpecker is the smallest of our woodpeckers, an all season garden bird at Dogcorner Cottage. An acrobat with a very characteristic rising and falling style of flying. You often hear them drumming on forest trees. He was giving me quite a look with my 300mm lens. This photo is cropped as well to showcase his handsome feathers and face.
