Nightlife

Well, guess where we are ..... Brighton!

We have come for a surprise last minute break with daughter#1 and family.

They came by train (and tube and bus), and we drove. It took us three and a half hours. Google maps took us on an interesting diversion, presumably to avoid part of the M25. At one point we ended up in a hospital. We had to do a three point turn in the staff car park. We got here safely in the end, and there is a secure car park space.

We had a walk down to the sea in the evening, only about 5 minutes. There is a lot of nightlife here! You should be able to see the old pier in the main blip. I nearly put the extra as the main and called it Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! as she did a very good rendition of the Abba song. It was the end of her act so she said she was about to go round for tips with her bucket and card reader. A sign of our increasingly cashless times. The nightlife does go on well after midnight. We were kept awake by a crowd of revellers, and dogs, outside our bedroom window on and off until 4am.

On the subject of revellers, before we set off for Brighton we did manage a quick Skype with daughter#2 as it was her birthday. I am sure she was very well behaved though as she was in Weinheim with her prospective in-laws, with a barbeque planned for the evening.

The wifi here is very slow, so there may be very few comments until we get home on Tuesday.
