Painted Lady

This painted lady seems happy to feed from and hang around the red valerian, which protrudes from the hedge at the front of the garden and appears to grow out of it. The valerian could be seen as a weed, but I am happy to leave it be because it adds a bit of colour and attracts butterflies. 

I took part in the Lytham Parkrun this morning. My times are still slow, but, nevertheless, I managed to come third in my category.
