Teddy Bear again, at Wittersham
An excellent day on the KESR at Wittersham Road signalbox. All worked perfectly and to timetable. I even got away early without all the switching out procedures and locking up as the box was open tonight for a charter and the Wealden Pullman dining train.
Two sets of visitors to the box, a family with two young daughters who were doing the railway walk from here to Northiam and catching the train back. The whole family enjoyed the experience.
The second visitor was an elderly chap who has always been fascinated by signalbox so it was a pleasure to explain what goes on and let him, like the children, pull so levers.
Sorry it’s the Class 14 Teddy Bear again. It’s been working hard over the past couple of weeks during the severe fire risk. No sign of any significant rain either.
