Lincoln

A long day. Setting off at 8am we spent the first part of the day catching up with Richard’s sister and family.

We then travelled to Lincoln where we had booked an overnight stay. We enjoyed a wander past the castle and onto the Norman cathedral. It was particularly good to see the frontage without any scaffolding. It really is an impressive building. We didn’t have time to go inside to see the Lincoln imp where Richard’s parents sat deciding whether they would adopt him. He was the result of a celebration at the end of the war between his Mum and a Canadian airforce pilot whose parents insisted he returned home and did not marry his sweetheart.

The extras are the entrance to the castle and alternative views of the cathedral.

No time to comment tonight will try to catch up tomorrow.
