This reminds me of Magritte's "Ceci n'est pas une pipe", explaining his painting The Treachery of Images. His point was that although quite obviously a pipe, it was not one, but merely an image of a pipe.

Here we have an avocado tree with a cardboard cutout of an avocado tied to it. We were at the garden centre looking for something to cheer me up on my brain explosion anniversary, or re-birthday as I like to call it. last year's celebration was a lot more creative, though in many ways this represents how I feel now - a cardboard cutout of my former self.
I didn't buy an avocado tree, but went for a tiny mandarin one instead.
