In case you didn't know it that is the sound of an emergency blip :-)

I popped into the garden at lunch time and cut the grass. That usually encourages the birds to come scavenging but not today it didn't. I popped out again after dinner tonight and after 10 minutes of waiting got a few shots of a blackbird, one of which was ok but not up to the standard of what I have seen from many here, so in deperation I took a self Portratit which I then messed about with in Pixlr-o-matic. Quite pleased with the results as they disguise my tired looking face (not slept well these past few nights).

Heard from Matthew today. He had a pretty difficult experience with a member of staff who went off the handle and started fighting with his peers on a night out. Matthew went looking for him but didn't find him. He did find two members of staff fallen down drunk in the road so took them back. The rogue staff member then turned up wanting to have a go at anyone and everyone. Matthew had to call the police who got him to calm down but when they left, he wanted (he said) a word with Matthew in his room. Matthew quite rightly refused and told him he would talk to him in the morning. Long story short he was suspended and then dismissed and put on a flight straight back home.

Matthew then had to give the rest of the staff a dressing down as in total 4 of them were out cold due to drink that night.

They simply don't pay him enough for what he has to deal with!
