wild & precious life

Happy 60th birthday...

To my husband.

We woke up in Tewkesbury and enjoyed coffee & croissants by the river. The cathedral bells rang non-stop for an hour, so the bell-ringers must have been practising. It was as though they were celebrating with us!

We then set off for Devon, somewhere we have never been before. The drive was very pleasant and we managed to park the motorhome in a Morrison's car park in Kingsbridge, to stock up ready for the week. It was a warm, sunny evening again which meant we could get our awning set up at our seaview pitch in Slapton, before heading out to the village pub.

The Tower Inn, with its 14th century tower, did not disappoint on the food front. We had moules in a cider cream sauce, then whole bream stuffed with sea fennel barbecued outdoors. Apparently the kitchen suffered a fire after the second lockdown so the food is being prepared outdoors and it is of exceptional quality! That was washed down with a most delicious Merlot to round off the day's celebrations.
