First Monarch Caterpillar!

Just a day or two ago, I was standing by our milkweed patch, feeling like a complete butterfly failure. Though I have seen several monarch females laying eggs on our plants, I had not yet spotted a single caterpillar. On this day, I finally found TWO!!!

Hope may be a thing with feathers, or with wings, as some poets may have said. But in our yard, this little bit of hope wears STRIPES. And so it goes. And so it goes. Yesterday, the patch seemed empty. Today, we are raising butterflies!
