The Pileated Visitor

I'm home between the dentist appt this morning and a hairdresser appt this afternoon and was thrilled to see a pileated woodpecker.. I was hoping it would stay for a few minutes so I could try and get a decent photo. It left pretty fast so this is what I have to use. Since this isn't a regular visitor, I had to use it for blip today.

I believe this one is a female. This is the a large woodpecker, about the size of a crow and very loud. It likes carpenter ants for dinner :)
